About the Role

African Parks is seeking a skilled and responsible Tipper Driver to join our team. This position plays a vital role in our operations, ensuring the efficient transportation of materials while maintaining safety and compliance with regulations. The selected candidate will report directly to the Roads Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Safe & Efficient Transport

  • Operate tipper trucks to transport crushed rock, sand, and gravel between designated locations.
  • Verify the weight and type of materials to ensure compliance with legal limits.
  • Load and unload materials following established safety procedures.

✔ Vehicle Maintenance & Inspections

  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections, checking oil, fuel, water levels, lights, and tires.
  • Keep the truck clean and perform routine maintenance as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or damages to the workshop team or management.

✔ Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to African Parks’ Standard Operating Procedures (AP SOPs) and workplace policies.
  • Follow construction site safety regulations and road traffic laws.
  • Maintain an accurate logbook of trips, materials transported, and any incidents.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping at worksites and follow operational guidelines.

✔ Communication & Teamwork

  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors and site personnel.
  • Report any road conditions, traffic issues, or operational delays.
  • Represent Greater Kafue Landscape Limited with professionalism and courtesy at all times.

✔ Additional Duties

  • Complete all assigned tasks within the designated working hours.
  • Follow all signage, manuals, and safety protocols.
  • Support other transport and site operations when required.

Who Can Apply?

✅ Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Valid Class CE Driver’s License (held for at least three years).
  • Up-to-date Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.

✅ Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience operating tipper/dump trucks in construction or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of truck maintenance, site safety, and road regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems on the job.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment (added advantage).
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to handle fieldwork challenges.
