As part of our commitment to inclusivity, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs.
Role Overview
The Special Education Teacher will play a vital role in adapting teaching methods, developing individualized learning plans, and working closely with students, teachers, and parents to create an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to help students overcome learning challenges.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and educational specialists to monitor student progress and provide the necessary support.
- Ensure that inclusive teaching practices are effectively integrated into the school’s curriculum.
- Support students in social and emotional development, helping them build confidence and independence.
- Conduct assessments and maintain records to track student progress.
- Provide training and guidance to fellow teachers on best practices in special education.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Inclusive Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification with a specialization in special educational needs.
- At least three years of experience working with children with diverse learning needs.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge International and/or Zambian National Curriculum is an advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- A passion for inclusive education and ensuring that all students reach their full potential.
