Job Overview
PIN is seeking a Relief Driver to provide transport services on an as-needed basis. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth movement of staff and goods while maintaining vehicle safety and compliance with Zambian road regulations. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Logistics Assistant and support operational and programmatic needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport staff, goods, and materials as per assignment.
- Ensure vehicle safety and follow Zambia’s Highway Code.
- Maintain a daily vehicle logbook and synchronize records.
- Deliver and collect official documents, parcels, and supplies.
- Ensure vehicles are serviced regularly, cleaned, and maintained.
- Keep track of vehicle insurance, road tax, and fitness certificates.
- Assist in basic vehicle repairs and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain safety equipment, including first aid kits and emergency tools.
- Adhere to PIN’s Code of Conduct and Safety Policies.
Requirements
- Valid Class B or higher driver’s license.
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience, preferably with 4x4 Land Cruiser vehicles.
- Familiarity with Lusaka, Mongu, and surrounding remote areas.
- Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written).
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
