About the Role
ZCCM Investments Holdings PLC is looking for proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance and Facilities Assistants to support the management and upkeep of its buildings and facilities. This role is critical in ensuring that all properties remain in excellent condition, providing a safe and comfortable environment for tenants and employees.
Key Responsibilities
1. Property Maintenance & Repairs
- Assist in routine maintenance tasks to ensure buildings and grounds are well-kept.
- Report and track repair requests, ensuring timely completion.
- Support service providers with specialized maintenance work.
2. Safety & Compliance
- Help enforce safety regulations and conduct regular inspections.
- Identify potential hazards and report them for resolution.
- Keep records of safety checks and maintenance activities.
3. Tenant & Financial Support
- Distribute rental invoices and collect payments from tenants.
- Assist with managing leases and handling tenant inquiries.
- Collect utility bills (electricity, water, council rates, ground rent) and forward them for processing.
- Help prepare payment documents for contractors and service providers.
4. Staff & Operational Support
- Oversee maintenance staff and cleaning teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in showing vacant offices and apartments to potential tenants.
- Help promote and advertise available rental spaces.
5. Technical Assistance
- Support the preparation of work schedules, purchase requisitions, and contract documents.
- Participate in site inspections and assist with bidder evaluations.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks align with company quality standards.
6. Communication & Coordination
- Act as a point of contact for tenants, staff, and service providers.
- Address maintenance-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Prepare reports on facility maintenance and improvement activities.
Who Can Apply?
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Project Management, Land Economy, Property Management, Facilities Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in real estate, facilities management, or a related role.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures, health and safety regulations, and property management.
- Ability to handle administrative tasks, budgeting, and contractor coordination.
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with tenants, staff, and service providers.
