The Road Development Agency (RDA) is a statutory body responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating Zambia’s road network. The agency oversees road maintenance, construction, and regulation of permissible road weights, among other responsibilities.
RDA is seeking qualified professionals to fill the following positions:
1. Chief Finance Operations Manager (1 Position) – Head Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the agency’s budgeting and financial planning.
- Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and audits.
- Ensure payroll administration and vendor payments.
- Improve financial and administrative processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration (ACCA/CIMA).
- Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration.
- At least 7 years of management-level experience.
- Must be a registered member of ZICA, ACCA, or CIMA.
2. Engineer – Contracts (2 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer road maintenance contracts.
- Ensure contractor compliance with project specifications.
- Inspect road works and prepare progress reports.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- Minimum 3 years of roadworks experience.
3. Engineer – Bridges and Emergencies (2 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage bridge maintenance and emergency response projects.
- Supervise contractors on bridge and culvert projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience in drainage structures.
- Registered member of EIZ.
4. Technologist – Highway Management System (7 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct road and bridge condition surveys.
- Prepare tender documents and bills of quantities.
- Assist in traffic count studies and road classification.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Must be a registered EIZ/ERB member.
5. Technologist – Works (5 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise road construction and maintenance.
- Monitor routine road maintenance contracts.
- Attend site meetings and ensure quality implementation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years experience in road construction.
- Must be a registered EIZ/ERB member.
6. Weighbridge Technologist (2 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and calibrate weighbridge equipment.
- Ensure weighbridges comply with Zambia Metrology Agency standards.
- Manage generator sets for weighbridges.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant field.
- Must be a registered EIZ/ERB member.
7. Manager – Administration (1 Position) – Head Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee office administration and records management.
- Manage building maintenance and security services.
- Coordinate asset disposal and inventory management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Business Administration.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years senior-level experience.
- Membership to a professional body is required.
8. Senior Communications & Corporate Affairs Officer (1 Position) – Head Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop communication strategies and manage public relations.
- Create press releases, social media content, and multimedia materials.
- Coordinate media engagements and corporate events.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism.
- Minimum 5 years experience in media and corporate communications.
- Must be a ZIPRC member.
9. Legal Officer – Contracts (1 Position) – Head Office
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and draft contracts, lease agreements, and policies.
- Provide legal opinions on contract management.
- Ensure legal compliance in agency agreements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Advocate of the High Court of Zambia.
- Minimum 3 years experience in legal practice.
- Must be a LAZ member; CIAB membership is an added advantage.
