Role Overview
Alistair Group is looking for an experienced Border Liaison Officer to oversee customs clearance and border logistics at Kasumbalesa. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth cross-border transport operations, reducing delays, and maintaining compliance with customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor truck movements and ensure seamless clearance at the border.
- Verify, inspect, and submit customs documents to relevant officials and clearing agents.
- Prepare and share daily reports on transport and clearance activities.
- Ensure that customs documentation is complete, well-organized, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Enforce company policies regarding driver discipline, uniform compliance, and safety protocols.
- Promote adherence to safety and operational standards at the border.
- Coordinate with internal teams and direct supervisors to provide daily updates on border activities.
- Utilize company systems for tracking and documentation purposes.
- Provide coaching and supervision to junior staff members.
- Handle any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Clearing & Forwarding, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and transport regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
