Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Limited, is one of the biggest copper producers in Zambia. It operates mines and processing plants located in four districts namely Chingola, Chililabombwe, Kitwe and Nampundwe. With an investment pledge of over $1 billion by Vedanta, KCM envisages to unlock key operations such as the Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP) in Chililabombwe and increase production to 300,000 tons of copper per year by 2030.

To support this vision, KCM would like to recruit experienced and qualified individuals for the following positions at Konkola Copper Mines Trust Schools.

1. SUBJECT TEACHER – PHYSICS/CHEMISTRY X 2

Main roles & responsibilities:

  • To teach form 1 to Grade 12
  • Strategically plan, teach and achieve 100% pass rate
  • Interpret the syllabus correctly and prepare schemes of work.
  • Deliver the highest standard of education and ensure quality lesson delivery.
  • Adequate assessment of the learners and prepare progress reports.
  • Relate with parents and staff over learners’ progress
  • Ensure protection and Safety of all learners.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the school administration.

Requirements and Skills

  • Must be a degree holder from reputable University (Minimum Bachelor of Science with Education)
  • Must have (3) years’ experience teaching at Secondary school level.
  • Experience in teaching A Level is an added advantage
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have a creative and innovative mind.
  • Ready to work long hours.
  • Must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia and must have a valid Teaching license

2. SUBJECT TEACHER – CIVIC EDUCATION/GEOGRAPHY X 1

Main roles & responsibilities:

  • To teach form 1 to grade 12
  • Strategically plan, teach and achieve 100% pass rate
  • Interpret the syllabus correctly and prepare schemes of work.
  • Deliver the highest standard of education and ensure quality lesson delivery.
  • Adequate assessment of the learners and prepare progress reports.
  • Relate with parents and staff over learners’ progress
  • Ensure protection and Safety of all learners.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the school administration.

Requirements:

  • Combination of Civic Education/English Language (minor)
  • Must be Degree holder from recognized University (Minimum B.A. ED)
  • Must have (3) years’ experience teaching at Secondary school level.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have creative and innovative mind.
  • Ready to work long hours.
  • Must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia and must have a valid Teaching license

3. SUBJECT TEACHER-LITERATURE/ENGLISH LANGUAGE/RE-X 2

Main roles & responsibilities:

  • To teach form 1 to grade 12
  • Strategically plan, teach and achieve 100% pass rate
  • Interpret the syllabus correctly and prepare schemes of work.
  • Deliver the highest standard of education and ensure quality lesson delivery.
  • Adequate assessment of the learners and prepare progress reports.
  • Relate with parents and staff over learners’ progress
  • Ensure protection and Safety of all learners.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the school administration

Requirements:

  • Combination of Religious Education/English Language (major)
  • Must be Degree holder from recognized University (Minimum B.A. ED)
  • Must have (3) years’ experience teaching at Secondary school level.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have creative and innovative mind.
  • Ready to work long hours.
  • Must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia and must have a valid Teaching license

4. SUBJECT TEACHER – ICT X 2

Main roles & responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in accordance with the Zambian curriculum (Secondary level), ensuring it meets the required educational standards.
  • Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills within the classroom environment.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of student progress, providing feedback and additional support where necessary.
  • Report students’ progress to the school administration and parents/guardians through meetings, reports, and consultations
  • Ensure the effective use of learning resources, including textbooks, digital tools, and other educational materials.

Requirements:

  • Must be Degree holder from recognized University (Minimum Bachelor’s degree in ICT/Computer Science)
  • Must have (3) years’ experience teaching at Secondary school level.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have creative and innovative mind.
  • Ensure protection and Safety of all learners.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the school administration.

5. SUBJECT TEACHER- MATHEMATICS (MAJOR) X 1

Main roles & responsibilities:

  • To teach form 1 to grade 12
  • Strategically plan, teach and achieve 100% pass rate
  • Interpret the syllabus correctly and prepare schemes of work.
  • Deliver the highest standard of education and ensure quality lesson delivery.
  • Adequate assessment of the learners and prepare progress reports.
  • Relate with parents and staff over learners’ progressEnsure protection and Safety of all learners.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the school administration.

Requirements:

  • Must be Degree holder from recognized University (Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics)
  • Must have (3) years’ experience teaching at Secondary school level.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have creative and innovative mind
  • Ready to work long hours.
  • Must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia and must have a valid Teaching license.
